While waiting for classes to adjourn, I'd be very busy in the next few weeks to come. I need to start making our home feel more like home...

My first project would be our living room. I'd be working around navy, brown, persimmon for our living room. I am stoked with excitement! Wish me luck!

Balqies: Iman, Insya'Allah when we have our first baby, I think it is going to be a girl.
Iman: But who am I going to play football with then?
Balqies: er... Iman,...you don't play football!
Iman: Oh yeah!

Happy Anniversary Amirul Iman!

Dearest Iman, Happy 4 years anniversary! We've been through so much together both good and bad. I could never picture myself with anyone else who knows me best like you do. This is our last anniversary as an unmarried couple, Insya'Allah after February 2012, we will be counting down to our wedding anniversary. I really am thankful to the Almighty for your presence in my life. Here's to many more of us! I love you Amirul Iman :)

The sky looks pale grey for the past few days that had come to past. The sun barely came out to play today. Sunny August slowly dissipates making room for the prelude of September; Drenched to dampness.

Eid’s around the bend. With that being said, preparations are on tow, because I have yet to receive my pay cheque from last month’s job. It sounds like a gloomy start for me, but fret not! I will not let overdue payments falter my Eid spirit! This is after all my last Eid as Miss Balqies insya'Allah (: , I can't wait to be Mrs.  Amirul 'Awesome' Iman *swoons*!

Anyhow, I was inspired to reenact Ben’s General food store Orecchiette Pasta with Baby Peas & Rocket (well sans the peas because I hate the bland taste of peas). Delicious, if I do say so myself!

this was before I smothered it with shaved Parmesan.

I just bought materials for our reception on Iman’s side. I decided to play with hues of orange and blue.  I never thought these two colors could complement each other. I am stoked with excitement on how preparations are coming along (:

listening to: Hey Champ - Cold Dust Girl (Gemini Remix)

I had a much needed Sunday out with my future in laws. We went to watch X-Men, First Class and later on adjourn to have lunch and went to check out wedding materials for Iman’s side. It was pretty exciting finding what colors suits our skin tone. Iman has always been lucky due to his white as snow skin (pfft!!!) and I on the other hand is a cross between creamy and salted caramel  (somehow, I’m imagining a slightly burnt marble cake..) anyhow, I’m just grateful I have skin (ameen). So Auntie Ros, found a color that suited both of us, however we’re still keeping our options open until after Eid.

sooooo cute .... *takes bucket to vomit* haha kidding mi amor!

Also I’ll most probably be heading to Singapore to look for materials for the dowry trays and my reception dress. I am stoked with excitement. I’ve been feeling the euphoric pangs, despite my evasive emotions weighing me down from time to time, but I’m not solely blaming my emotions! There are a medley of idiots out there that left me enraged. I reckon they deserve a hand print or two on their faces.

this was 3 years ago I reckon, when I just moved to my current home.

Our wedding is in seven months time, yet people around me; my friends specifically are more excited than I am. Uncanny isn’t it? To back the truth trolley, I am stoked with excitement yet I find it difficult to express my excitement with others except with Iman and our families..(Oh and our friendly wedding photographer, Faris Fakri!) It is a whole new step for me, I was reading online forums about brides-to-be not excited, their reasons were maybe there are doubts about the marriage or they are not really into the guy.

I beg to differ (and I am sure there are many like me), I am excited about starting a journey with the boy I literally fell head over heels for over four years ago. And four years came forward, and I am still in love with that same boy, who over the years transition to a man. Who taught me so much about life, who watched me grow and grew with me as we both embarked into adulthood. Al though we have not tasted all the salt and pepper life has to offer but insya'Allah we will together as man & wife.

I admire Iman, he is truly a blessing from the almighty. Ameen.  He really is, the other half that makes me whole.

What is it with men and keyboards?

Before we get into things, I should explain that question on top. For the past few months that had come to past, I’ve been following Iman on his keyboard escapade.  Without fail, I would always find myself walking behind him heading towards the keyboard aisle. A medley of keyboards all neatly arranged some wireless, makes nice clicker sounds, ridiculously small, way bigger than my head and absurdly overpriced!  I thought it was a momentarily thing, but I was so wrong. It got so intense a few weeks back, when I caught him air typing! My poor fiancĂ© I thought.

So indecisive, we came out empty handed. I took matters into my own hands yesterday. I headed to Digital Mall, and bought him the keyboard he had been eying for the past couple of months.  I drove to his office and called him out, we talked for a little. We talked about work, about Bali, me being away. He couldn’t stop nagging about how I’m leaving him for three days.

Then I said “well, it’s just three days plus I think I have something for you that would take your mind off the fact that I am away”. I passed him a white plastic bag, and immediately he figured what it was. He was so excited, I felt like I just gave a little boy a box of matchbox cars. Instead of a thank you, he joked “oh man, if I knew you were going to buy I would have asked for the most expensive one!”  At this point, he was about to receive another gift from me, a knuckle sandwich. But I knew he was joking (I hope), so the entire time he was hugging the box not letting go. When we got back to his place, first to see it was his mother. Then he later showed it off to his sister, tsk tsk

He was stoked with excitement when he finally opened the box containing his new precious.  I’m not surprised if he has already given it a name.  Despite not being able to fathom this strange fetish in regards to men and their keyboards, whatever makes Iman happy, makes me happy (terms and conditions apply).

Today, I'll be Iman's little domestic wonder. I am uncertain on what wonders (hopefully) I'll be whipping up today. I bought some poppy seeds the other day, thought of making orange poppy seed cake/ muffin/ cookies and perhaps a chocolate cake for my mother.
