#219

It feels foreign to blog these days. I haven't figured how to find myself unravelling my life anecdotes here or knowing what exactly to write about any more. So please forgive me for the lack of substantial updates (I think I've overused this phrase). In the mean time, enjoy some pictures until the next time you see me writing a lengthy post insyaAllah.

#313 Balik Kampong

I don't have a kampong to begin with, neither does Iman. So this Eid, we headed east to Ibu's (Iman's mom) kampong in Merang, Terengganu. The main purpose of our trip was to celebrate the union of Iman's cousin abang Epoi & his wife, Kak Linda but we managed to kill two birds with one stone It was a 6 hour drive, and a trip laden with eating! Although some shops were still closed during Eid, we managed to eat Ikan Celup tepung (Malay-style tempura), Nasi Kerabu for breakfast (I'm not usually a breakfast eater, what more eat rice at 7 in the morning!) but it was worth the try! I Can't wait to paint Terengganu town red again!

#309 Nena's 86th Birthday

We celebrated Nena's 86th birthday yesterday. It was so good to see her in such a joyful mood. She kept arguing with my Tante Su about how she is not 86 years old but younger. So I told her, that she was 21 years old and she laughed and agreed. It has been awhile since my family had a big gathering like last night, it was really good, kinda reminds me of the old days when we would frequent at Nena's or my aunts place for a get-together

Mom ordered the cake from Pearl Cakes Events.

#305 Visiting Amélie

Went over my cousin's yesterday to visit my niece Amélie and her mommy. Last I saw her was when she was 3 days old, now she is 3 months old and a whole lot more to love!

Amélie at 3 days old. I look a little awkward there, I've never held a baby that young...

Amélie now

At last, she smiles for me!

June has proven to be a hectic month for me.I am juggling between photography and working with the Chef in a Hat. Workload is pilling up, and I feel like I need to duplicate myself to keep the show going!

I'll be traveling a lot this month insya'Allah for work and pleasure. Hence why I'm rushing to meet datelines so when I'm out of town, I can be at peace and not glued to my iPhone or laptop. ..(yeah, right!).

Here's a sneak peek to where I'm off to:

First location from the 21st-24th of June

Second location from 29th of June - 1st of July.

I was supposed to head down to Sydney, Australia on the 14th of June for an assignment but it got postponed to some time August. Oh well, at least I am traveling! Now back to work!

Happy "35th" birthday Ayah...

Ayah with Captain Azman, Dean, the other waiter & the chef.

Had dinner at Equatorial with the family. Our usual meet-up point. It is so sad that Equatorial will be closing for four years as they will be going through renovation. Hopefully, in 4 years time, I can still get my favorite fruit flan cake at RM 98.00!

Kak Geeann is back home for my wedding! Yahoo! Kak Gee Ann has always been like an older sister to me, I spent most of my childhood years with her. We both went through a 'Harriet the Spy' phase, I was her young side-kick, we also used to play masak-masak, where she would cook exquisite invisible meals for me. I remembered one time, my late uncle, Papa Cho (kak Gee Ann's dad) got her, her first analog camera. It was pink in color, but then again, back then half of her things were pink (haha!) she would dress me up in her own creations and take photos of me (Kak Gee Ann you remember? ha-ha I found the photo somewhere!).

Now that many years have come to past, she never ceases to inspire me. She cooks really scrumptious meals that are not make-believe, she runs a fashion boutique in Melbourne and is on the way to be a full-fledged architect.

Insya'Allah, Allah S.W.T will watch over you and always bless you :) I love you Kak GeeAnn!
