After working with a corporate company, as fun as they may be, and the experience I've acquired, it wasn't worth the XXXX I made in a span of 2 weeks. It consumed my time (as I was only a freelancer), I was depressed towards the last few weeks before I called it quits. I was supposed to come back after a week's break, and after much discussion with my parents, Iman and my close friends, they all reckon I should not go back.

I'm happier now, flexible work schedule, and the best part of all is, I don't have to report to anyone but myself, oh and at times, Asyraf Lee. 

** there's more to why I quit, but I'll save that for another day ;)

Good lord, the silence of this blog is deafening! The consequences of being a workaholic! Actually, many reasons have contributed to my lack of updates lately, apart from work, I've been ... what have I been doing? The past few days have been a blur.

Oh and I miss Iman! He left for Korea yesterday for a week, and I'm stuck here working :( And he left me a few wedding task to complete or try to complete before he gets back, smart ain't he? Oh well, it is for our upcoming nuptial :)

Well, have a great night everybody, I'll be out with Ms. Brenda Tan tonight, let's pray I come home with salivate-worthy photos ;)

I am supposedly on a work break, but it has been an insanely busy week! I have been scrambling to get things done before the Royal Wedding we will be covering the week to come (we, as in Team Asyraf Lee). Fret not ladies! Prince Harry isn't getting hitched anytime soon! ha-ha! 

Also, I've been commissioned to take photographs of a field-joint coating (rigid foam) demo, (please pardon the jargon) this Thursday. Industrial photography, I've never done anything of such but I should be versatile, no?

Insya'Allah all goes well, I won't deny that I am very... nervous... about both jobs!

Last month, an old friend of mine commissioned me to capture her daughter's 1st birthday party.  We had brunch at The Bakery. Spent almost 3 hours going through photos and editing them one by one. Baby Maya tagged along so we took photos to keep her entertained. 

I am still getting used to the idea of Farah being a mom, she really is an amazing mother. But no surprise there as she had always been a kakak (older sister) to me when I was younger. I used to go over her house and make pink bubblegum colored pancake which tasted just like bubblegum (ha-ha, Aza &Farah remember this?) Good times, no?

The second week of May has saunter in, I’ve been distracted by work, trying to finish all I can before I fly off to Bali this Saturday Insha’Allah.  I am stoked with excitement!  Bali, revisited! Although I am not on vacation but on commission I am certain I would be able to kill two birds with one stone (: 

I’ll make sure, I get my clients to take nice tourist-like photos of me :p

wishes Iman could come along to Bali this Saturday. I need someone to carry my camera bag and equipments :p he-he. I'm kidding Iman! I am stoked with excitement, last I visited Bali was in 2004. I left 2 days before the Tsunami had hit Bali in December 26th 2004. Insya'Allah this trip will be a safe and an exciting photographic experience. ameen.

Kuwait - 4055 nautical miles away from home. If I do consider the offer, I fly off in three weeks time and would call this home for 6 months. My father reckons I should go for it but my heart feels heavy to accept this great offer. They've yet to reply me in regards to a position in the Kuala Lumpur HQ.

Anyway, it's 4:44 in the morning ... it never occurred to me before that you could be surrounded by a throng of people yet feel so... so alone!

this coming July is an important month for Team Asyraf Lee as we have been commissioned as official photographers for a wedding by the Royalty of Selangor. I am stoked with excitement, and can't help but be nervous. A little worried about the protocol, and how some people like to use their authorities to a certain caliber just to please themselves when the host themselves do not intricate situations.

Well, insya'Allah everything will go smooth sailing.  The last time I covered a Royal event on my own without Team Asyraf Lee, I got trampled by some MALE senior photographer (on purpose) because I had a nice shot of the Prime Minister's wife, Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah and Datin Seri Raja Nor Mahani Raja Shahar Shah. Oh well.  Perhaps his ego was wounded when he found out a 21 year old girl (2010) was official photographer for the event and he was backup photographer. tsk tsk. 

ps/ I received some e-mail from some of you asking if I took up any classes on photography. the answer is no. I am a self taught photographer. I was a protege of Tom Hayton (a British fashion photographer) but before he moved to Barcelona. And was later hired by Asyraf Lee after he saw my portfolio :D but before this I was offered to be part of The Picture Company HQ but turned down their offer as I was not ready to pack up and leave my family and Iman to work in Manila, Philippines. Also, I'm not doing a degree in Photography :)
