#300 Homemade beef burgers

It has been awhile since I cooked a meal for Iman, so today I decided to be a good wife and make homemade beef patties served with Cajun infused fries, salad and a glass of virgin mojito for my dearest husband.

Balqies' homemade beef burger
(adapted from The Ultimate Makeover Burgers by Angela Nilsen)

Ingredients:

400g lean beef mince
5 spring onions, finely chopped
2 finely grated carrots
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 medium egg, beaten
1 1/2 tsp olive oil, for brushing
Salt & Pepper to taste

Preparation Method:

  1. Tip the mince into a bowl with the spring onions, grated carrot, garlic, and egg. Mix well using a fork. Season with pepper and a pinch of salt, then divide the mixture into 4.
  2. Flatten each piece with your hands into a round, about 2 cm thick - or similiar width to your buns. Chill for 30 minutes or until ready to cook.
  3. Heat a griddle pan. Brush each burger on one side with some of the olive oil. Place on the hot griddle , oiled side down. Cook for 5 minutes on each side.
  4. Remove and let the burgers rest for 3 mins.
  5. Serve with salad and fries. Bon appetite.

#69

It is way past the witching hours, and yawns have long gone taken over the thrown, yet I could not muster myself to bed without posting what I had made for dinner tonight for Iman & his sister, Dik Yan.

Iman was running a little late due to work, so Dik Yan and I were practically salivating while watching some French cooking show on tele. We were famish but did not want to eat without Iman, so we munched on whatever food we could find until I got a text message from Iman "leaving now".We both hurried to the kitchen to bake the fish and chips (wedges). I had marinated the dory fillets priorly for about 4 hours to enhance the medley of flavors.

I'll post up the recipe in due time. Tomorrow perhaps Insya'Allah. As for now, I shall lay in the deep sea of blankets and dream of sugar spice and everything nice. Salam and Bonne nuit!

#63

Since I'll be having dinner with Iman and his little sister tonight, thought I'd make tiramisu for my family and them, oh and my neighbor too because she absurdly loves my tiramisu! Let's pray that my tiramisu making-skills is not a distant memory.

last time I made this baby was back in 2009 early 2010 when we just got back from Melbourne.  Here's a few facts about me. 1) I don't eat anything dairy or reminds me of milk (except ICE CREAM/ GELATO/ Certain CHEESE & CHOCOLATE) due to being lactose intolerance. 2) I do not take coffee.  It's funny actually, 3) I don't even know what tiramisu taste like, and when people tell me my tiramisu is really good, I take their word for it.

Okay I best be off, the tiramisu won't make itself. Blessed Wednesday everybody!
